Electric Vehicle Boon or Bane?
Nowadays EV (Electric Vehicle) is cool to have thing for all families and for everyone. Major reasons are no need to pay for fuel (petrol / diesel) and misunderstanding that these vehicles are completely environment friendly. If you try to do more research on it, 90% of websites will talk about various benefits and features of using EV.
The following are a few highlighted advertised benefits.

- Tax and financial benefits
- Fossil fuel usage is destroying our planet. EVs are not using them.
- Easy and quiet to drive.

- No noise pollution
But a few points should be considered while buying EV.
- Most of electricity is generated by fossil fuel.
- All EVs are responsible throughout their life for CO2 emission from manufacture, supply and issue of recycling of the parts.
- Mining is done for extracting nickel, manganese, cobalt, lithium, and graphite.
- The cost of replacing the degraded batteries is almost 60% to 70% that of car’s cost.
- Question of disposal of degraded batteries.
Are electric cars as polluting as fossil fuel-based cars? There is always an ambiguity regarding this. To conclude, EV looks promising path to follow provided sustainable manufacturing, industrial process and technology is adapted for decarbonization of EV.
