Gudhipadwa – Information That Children Can Understand
After understanding the significance of Gudhi, there is another important task we should undertake: initiating the tradition of hoisting Gudhi at forts, fortresses, and ancient temples.
Gudhipadwa Festival
Why should we hoist Gudhi on forts?
Gudhi symbolizes victory. It serves as a tribute to the triumphs of Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj and his associates, acknowledging their immense efforts for Swarajya, undertaken regardless of harsh weather conditions and harsh socio-political situations, for the benefit of future generations.
Through personal interactions, and by leveraging history and festivals, we can unite the community. This initiative aims to bring together like-minded individuals interested in history, nation, and culture.
By celebrating festivals on forts and fortresses, which were bustling with activity four hundred years ago, we can revive those silent structures, allowing them to relive past experiences and expressing our gratitude towards these protective edifices.
